2019 Evening Concerts

Evening Concerts 2019 Camp Meeting

Mini Concerts are a special touch to the Upper Columbia Conference Camp Meeting at Upper Columbia Academy.  Each evening a half hour before our 7:00 p.m. meeting there will be a mini concert.

Wednesday 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. - Hymn Sing

Enjoy  singing hymns with Harold Dixon, soloist accompanied by Janel Dixon on the keyboard. Start off your camp meeting experience with rousing songs of faith and hope. Music brings our church family together in a unique way because when we sing together our words and souls unite. The Apostle Paul wrote, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts" Colossians 3:15-16.

Thursday 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. - Scott Orser, Saxophone

Scott Orser has dedicated his sax to playing sacred music. He is a product of the UCA music program under the tutelage of Jerry Lange in the early 80's. He plays throughout the Northwest and has played on many mission trips as well.

Friday 6:30 to 7 p.m. - Bruce Christensen, Soloist and Guitar

Bruce grew up on a farm in Southern Minnesota.  He grew up in a family that loved music and played and sang together as often as they could.  His love of music was always been a central part of his life.  All through his school years he participated in every music avenue possible, but when his dad bought him a guitar life changed.  Looking back, he wishes that he can say that he was a natural but that wasn’t the case.  He quit in frustration many times but the love of music and the sharing of song always brought him back to learning.  His greatest joy is sharing the love of Jesus through the emotions of song!
