Dr. Minner Labrador, Jr.
Dr. Minner Labrador, Jr. serves as president of the Upper Columbia Conference. Together with the Upper Columbia Conference team and the guidance of the Holy Spirit he provides spiritual and administrative leadership to the pastors, teachers and membership. His mission is to empower all leaders and members, to grow the church and together prepare for the soon return of Jesus.
Previously he served in the Southwestern Union for seven years as vice president of ministries; ministerial secretary; and as director of ministerial, men’s ministries and stewardship. Prior to his service in the Southwest, he served in the Carolina Conference as men’s ministries director and senior pastor of the Sharon Church located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also served in the Florida Conference as men’s ministries director and pastor.
Pastor Labrador has recorded the More Hope I & II DVD evangelism and discipleship programs in English and Spanish for the Southwestern Union evangelism department. He has assisted the NAD men’s ministries department and most recently the NAD mission and strategic development department. He is the founder and creator of the men’s ministries television series Old Man New Man. While in Florida, Pastor Labrador hosted a daily radio talk show, Divine Direction Live Radio.
He is a graduate of Southern Adventist University located in Collegedale, Tennessee; Andrews University located in Berrien Springs, Michigan; and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary located in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his doctoral studies with a specialty in redemptive leadership and healthy organizational structures.
His wife, Evelyn Labrador, is a double major graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Presently, she serves ministerial spouses in the UCC and joins Pastor Labrador in many meetings across the territory. They have been married since 1986 and have two sons, Minner and Mario, who are both professional firefighters in Charlotte, N.C. In April 2015 the Labradors became the proud grandparents of Lucas Minervino and Levi Rey Labrador.
